On Veteran’s Day I can’t help but think of those I have known who served me by serving my country.
Some have died. Some finished their tour. Some still serve. To all of you, I say thank you.
My grandfather, my dad, my father-in-law, my uncles.
Bob, Charlie, Tom, Martin, Bill, Robbie, Chuck, Rick, Stoney, Clyde, Ed, Pank, Dave, Diana, Mike, Joey, Angela, Troy, Tisha, Jered.
There are so many others whose names I don’t know but they stand strong, proud, brave and true.
Thank you.
You testify to a devotion, a promise kept, a duty well tended.
Your lives exhibit this truth, “No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.”
Thank you.
