God was very clear to Israel in His Passover instructions.  Details are important to Him.

One that He repeated again and again was passing along our faith to our children and grandchildren.  This is imperative if the next generation is to know the God of glory and His Son who came to save and the Holy Spirit who will take up residence in us to give us power to live pleasing to God.

I remember my mother and dad telling me how they came to know Jesus as Savior.  I heard it over and over.  They are both basking in the joys of Heaven now, and their stories remain with me.
